CHURCH MINISTRIES
Men’s Ministry
The Benniel Brown Men’s Ministry of Shiloh United Methodist has the following goals:
-
To declare Christ as the center of every man’s life,
-
Engages men in the study of God’s Word,
-
To help men to display the character of Christ in daily work and relationships, and
-
To outreach with Christian service to others.
The men meet every 2nd Sunday of the month after service. All men are welcome.
Women’s Ministry
The Shiloh UMC women’s ministry is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The mission includes:

Providing opportunities to grow spiritually,
-
Equipping women and girls to be leaders,
-
Providing transformative educational experiences,
-
Organizing for growth and flexibility,
-
Working for justice through service and advocacy.
The women meet every 2nd Sunday of the month after service. All men are welcome.
Music Ministry
-
Sets the environment for worship through song during the worship services.
-
Meets each Saturday and Sunday for practice.
Leads the Praise and Worship teams.
Worship Ministry
The Worship ministry works with the pastor and others so that the congregation will provide opportunities for worship celebrations that focus on God and help people of all ages grow in their understanding of the gospel and become better equipped for daily living as faithful disciples. The worship ministry provides the following:

Support for worship by identifying, training, and supporting worship leaders such as acolytes, artists, Scripture readers, ushers, greeters, and others,
-
Promotes and fosters regular individual and family worship and spiritual formation,
-
Works with other ministry leaders so that worship celebrates the whole life of the congregation and community.
Youth and Children’s Ministry
Works with other church and community leaders to address the needs of youth and maximize opportunities so that all youth grow in strength and wisdom. Youth ministry shall be for, with, and by youth. Youth in your congregation and community will grow in faith as Christian disciples.
The Youth Dance Team ministers in praise and dance.
The youth meet every Sunday morning at Shiloh at 9:45 a.m.
Usher Board
The usher board does the following:
-
Prepare the church on Sundays for church services,
-
prepare the church programs,
-
greet all that come to worship,
-
Ensure that bibles are available,
-
assist the pastor and ministry teams during services,
-
collect the offerings,
-
assist with sacraments i.e. communion, baptism, etc…
maintain order and peace in the sanctuary.
New Members Ministry
-
Acknowledges and Greets Visitors,
-
Conducts New Visitor Orientation Classes,
-
Survey new members to determine their interests.
-
Indoctrinate new members in the ways of the United Methodists.
Educate new members about the ministries available at Shiloh
Prayer Ministry
The prayer ministry helps the congregation recognize that prayer is essential to a life of Christian discipleship. The congregation will become stronger in the spiritual practice of prayer. The congregation will be led by God’s Spirit in fulfilling the mission of making disciples for the transformation of the world.

Church Council
An effective church council provides initiative, coordination, and collaborative leadership for the congregational group that does planning, goal setting, implementation, and evaluation of ministry to fulfill the mission and vision of the congregation.
Christian Education
Oversees the learning and teaching experiences for the congregation so that people of all ages grow in their understanding of the gospel and become better equipped for daily living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Lead the congregation to understand the importance of lifelong growth and learning as Christian disciples.

Christian Educations goal is to provide bible based opportunities for participants to gain and understanding of God’s love through Bible study, bible based programs and Christian service learning opportunities.

Provide books and materials to support bible studies.

Support men, women, youth and other ministries bible classes.

Maintain the church library.
Outreach Ministry
The outreach ministry addresses the concerns and conditions of people in the congregation and community so that they may grow in their spiritual lives and become better equipped for life as Christian disciples. Leaders of nurture, outreach, and witness will work together to plan and implement ministries that help the church fulfill its mission.
Hospitality

Hospitality is responsible for coordinating special events of the church.
Works with a committee to provide food and refreshment for the events
